I open the wood and see the glue is not really stick on the floor anymore and the floor is wet. I never do any renovation in this floor but how come the water from bathroom can leak into the floor~!!! I am not the only house like that I think because one of my neighbour also have the same problem, He change all the parke near the bathroom to tile~!!!

Mr President, If this kind of case, can we ask Paramount to take the responsible to change all? because this is the developer fault~!!! i hope RA can bring this issue to the Developer~!!!

    Thank you

Hi Kok Xiang. Each individual household facing diffirent kinds of water seepage problems dued to the poor water proofing membrane during laying.

2 days ago, my neighbors called to my house complaining about thier water seepage & wet the groung floor ceiling. I gave him few suggestions as follow :-

    A) Complaint to Paramoutn Town management for poor water proofing which supposingly warranty against defects for at least 10 years. They have no reason to tell you warranty expired.

    B) If it fell into thier DEAF ears. Please write to thier boss Mr Rickie Liew ( ED) for Help.
& CC copy letter to our RA.

    C) In worst scenario, I can introduce you a repairer using pumping of grouting instead of removing the whole tiling at your bath room. It proved workable for my condo in KL which i did only last month & for sure came along with 10 years guarantee. Contact him @ 019-2291621
by name of Mr Tan. The price range approximately Rm500 for toilets with at least 10 points of injecting grouting.

Hope that it will help you to resolve your problem

    Thank You Very Happy

    Hi Jean Pierra,

It is very obvious that the developer never do water proofing for the bathroom floor. Before moving in to my house, I used plasticine to patch up the water drain hole so that I could retent water for the level of approximately 1 inch height. I left the water there for a few hours and observed the water level dropped. I went down to ground floor and look up to the ceiling right below the bathroom, I could see new water marks there.

Luckily my unit was still under warranty during my moving in period and I manage to get Paramount to rectify all the problem. The parquet in your room has been damaged by the water seapage also.

    HI Jean,Terenceeng

Terenceeng, welcome to our blog (we happened to be neighbours).

Somehow or rather, this sub standard parke installation is "Palmaian Affair". I would say 90% of the residents here faced the same problem including myself. I remembered I chatted with Terenceeng about my parke experience when we met the first time at his house.

Before I shifted in, Paramount contractor forgot to close one of my master bedroom windows after they did some remedial works in my house. Unfortunately that very night it rained heavily and 1/4 of my parke floor got wet and went "kabut". As usual I complained to Paramount and their contractors came to fix them up. Workmanship was shady and the replaced parke sizes differ slightly from the original ones. Since the sizes differ slightly, the contractors applied glue to cover up the gaps. Of course I was not happy so they had to redo it. The parke seemed to look better after that. I thought I should accept it otherwise I couldn't shift in time. I couldn't ask for perfection as I knew it was difficult for them to comply.

After shifting in for 6/7 months, my problem resurfaced again. This time, the parke didn't come off like the first time, but the glue used to fill in the gaps dried up,leaving the gap opened. It was not a piece or two but the entire area that was fixed earlier. So everytime I step on it, the feeling on it is not so even.

I didn't call Paramount to come and fix again eventhough I did have the right to do so. Afterall, the furnitures and fittings(built in) had been done and I didn't want them to mess up the place.

I spent 3k just to polish the parquet with water base with the thought that it will last me for the next 10 years.

The floor starts to smile at me less than 6 months after I have
    moved in. *sigh*.....

Water proofing issue had been rectified by Paramount (yet to tell whether it is working since it just get fixed yesterday)with the parquet remained open mouth.

Paramount said they have warranty on the water proofing but not the floor. Like that one arr???

    Hi President Toh,
Thanks for the invitation. However, I am not so 'hang fook' that can be SAHM (stay at home mom) my dear hubby, you've got the hint??? kekeke... affraid

Well, we did argue with the officer in Customer Care Dept last Thursday. Our argument is that the root cause for the defective parquet was due to water seepage problem. He promised to bring this up to the upper level but no reply till today. Appreciate if you could help to let us know who should we liaise with to get this resolved.

On the other hand, I am also a bit skeptical on their workmanship (like Kelvin's case). I kena from their quality work before.
At first the masterbedroom bathroom tiles get replaced due to crack line. But the door seems to be scratched due to the tiling work. After the 2nd complaint, they get someone to fix the door for me by polishing & re-painting the door. But next was my parquet being dirtied by the paint and they used the chemical to rub off the colour..then I gave up. That's it!! The more I do the more I suffer...really kow tow to their workmanship..... Sad

Post  Jean Pierre Wed Jun 10, 2009 12:10 am

    Dear Mr. Toh,

I think have to bring this issue to Paramount. Because I am very sure not only one house have that problem. I not do any report to Paramount yet because my wife still in confinement month, so is not convenience. I only make report later.

Besides my house, I think the house next to Nicholas's house I heard the anget said the 1st floor almost all parquet come out. I think this is very serious thing.
I cant join the meeting tomorrow because I have to work. So, I wish RA can help to discuss with PARAMOUNT ask them to solve this problem.

    Thank you

Post  terenceeng Fri Jun 19, 2009 3:45 pm

    Hi Jean Pierre,
Pls. find sequence of events as below.
As per advice from Toh and RA members, I lodged my complaint to the Customer Service Dept. and Ah Seng attended to my complaint. He personally came to my house for inspection and confirmed the cause of defective parquets due to waterproofing problem. He sent worker to my hse, removed tiles in bathroom, applied waterproofing cements and all necessary works. It took 3 days to complete the task. At same time, paramount refused to replace the defective parquet as I feedback during last monday meeting and in the blog previously. On the following day, I escalated my dissatisfaction about the complaint to Ms. Agnes, Customer Service Mgr.. And this morning, I received call from Ah Seng that Paramount Mgmt agreed to replace the defective parquets.
Again, thanks to Toh and RA members for the advice. Also, I would like to thank Paramount esp. Ah Seng for the immediate response to my complaint.
Glad to see actions are currently in place in our lovely Palma after our feedback to Paramount:
Cleaning of bushes near 37F, Cleaning of water fountain...
    Cheers, Very Happy
    1Palma.
