Many of us are unaware that our house has a prefect breeding haven for mosquitoes. I believe that most of us do not have flower pots/empty containers/tin cans/plastic bottles in our own backyard that collect stagnant rain water. The place is the rain gutter attached to our roof.
I remembered that during one of the RA meeting, while we were on the topic of fogging of Aedes mosquito, one of the committee member mentioned about our gutter can collect stagnant rain water. I did not take the trouble to check it out myself until last Sunday when I went up to the roof top to do some repair work, I discovered that one part of my gutter was covered with about 1/4 of an inch of stagnant water (water retained because it had tilled at a wrong angle) and OH MY GOD ....there were plenty of mosquito lavaes!!!!!. Without delay, I quickly drilled 2 holes to drain away the stagnant water.
So, please check your gutter too and help to prevent Aedes mosquito from breeding.
