Termite in my house

Hi all , 3 days ago my house has been affected by this termite. The floor of my upper level of the house has got many termite. Not sure where these came from . My neighbour too have got these.

So, house owner out there, please do some inspection , check any little biting sounds before its too late.

Hi Honkit,

This is something new and required attention. I thought Paramount has done termite treatment after construction so that our place is safe from termite for at least 5 years. Obviously something must have gone wrong somewhere.

I think we need to work together as a community against termite as I understand this species will travel from house to house if termite treatment is done only on a few selected houses.

Yes. This is what i thought when i found out there is termite. Spent 400 bucks to ask some anti-pest fella to come and apply some chemical all around the house. Hopefully it will kill some of them.

I dont know what to do after this. Should i complaint to paramount or what? I've moved in for 1 and half years. When does the warranty period starts? Is it year 2003 or what?

Hi Honkit, I m sorry to learn from you that your house being attacked by termites. If i m not mistaken, when the time paramount handed over us the vacant possession of house came along with the certificate of Guarantee by ANTZ-Sign (M) Sdn Bhd for termite free for 5 years ( applicable to subterranean termites in the soils.) Kindly call them for advise @ 3290 6366 or email to them antzsign@tm.net.my. I do have the certificate with me.

Didn't expect your house is the Palma's first termite casualty and happened so soon since our houses are pre-termite treated. Normally, termites trive in areas where the underground have wood based materials and so happened our Palma, Permai & Bayu were formally an oil palm estate.

When you mentioned that the anti pest fella applied some chemical around your house, would you mean to say they had just sprayed around the corners of your house? If it was so, it would not end the problem totally, only offer temperorary solution because the chemical would kill the termites above ground and not those underground where the nest is. Some antipest companies
use bait while others use drill holes systems so that the chemical can reach underground to kill the whole colony.

Mr. Toh is right about the warranty. ANTZ-Sign will be able to help you and to give you advice to prevent further damage to your house.

Hi Honkit7, I symphatise with your situation but I think that you should also inform Paramount. Don't you think they should be aware the kind of problem that may infect the whole of Palma. Let us see if they will treat the houses around yours. What do you think Mr President ?

I have already inform Paramounth. They said they are not responsible on anything as renovation work has been done to the house.
I have spoken to Mr Toh , he said its ridiculas. He suggested that contacting ANTZ-Sign (M) Sdn Bhd to solve the problem as they provide 5 years guarantee.
I will contact them soon.

But i think Paramounth should be aware of this.

Bearing in mind that Paramount is still doing some new projects around this area, I think we should write to the media about this so that others are also pre warned of such irresponsible developers. We should not leave Paramount of the hook as they sold us the home with a full package. They therefore should also help us coordinate this matter as they had been the direct paymaster to the Anti Pest company. With the aim of them getting the company to provide treatment again for all the houses around this vicinity.

Shall we get our media contacts together to promote this to media ? what do you think ?

Hi Siva, I knew the frustration of house owners whose houses attacked by termites. My opinion will be lets draft a letter to thier ED - Mr Ricque Liew prior calling media to assist. I would propose our ' Romeo & juliet ' author & writer - Mr Andy to draft this letter.

My sincere thanks for all the compliment. As a RA committee member and an individual who stand for the righteous and just, I am willing to volunteer for drafting a diplomatic, no hold bar with sensible level of sarcasm to enlighten Paramount management in giving fair treatment to Palma resident.

I would need a scan copy of the termite treatment certificate and also some photos of the termite attacked spot to make my letter more illustrative. I would hope Honkit could help to snap some photos and scan the certificate into pdf format and send it to my personal email at andychewbk@gmail.com

I am writing to follow up on the termite issue. As per our meeting with Paramount, we are suppose to come up with a list of termite affected houses so that Paramount could act on the consolidated findings.

Have you got a chance to find out from your neighbor whether they have the termite problem? Otherwise, we could work together as a team to collect information from our neighbors.

Just got the news from my Bayu friend that her neighbours are facing problem with termite as well. 3-4 house was infected with termites at the staircase area and upper floor.
I am very worry whether the colony built underneath of our house...even now...

What is the status of the termite treatment? I heard several cases from Bayu as well as Kota Kemuning. A bit worry about Palma precint...

The treatment of my house has been good. So far nothing happen since treated. There are few houses sharing the same street as mine also affected. Including Street 37b representative. What i have heard that he complained to Paramount and he got the treatment from them.
