I had some good chat with a few neighbors along 33/38 and a question popped up, "If Paramount don't want to disclose their account, how would we know the money allocation and the balance of the account?". "Are we going to accept whatever pennies inherited from Paramount?". "What if Paramount said the monthly fee collected has been fully utilized and nothing left? what are we going to do about that?".
I think the next step forward is to push Paramount to disclose the account so that it's being transparent to us. It's our money and I don't think they should be so secretive about it. We have been getting a number of "promises" from Paramount that they will fund this and that. How sure we are that they wouldn't use our money and fund it back to us?
Mr. President Toh, I think we need to do something about it. I am receiving more and more feedback from my neighbors asking about this and we need to find a way to get the account out from Paramount. Sooner or later they are going to pass the account to us anyway, what's the problem of letting us see the account? Is there something that we shouldn't be knowing? If you need help to put a big banner in front of Paramount office stating "Show Your Account, We want Transparancy" I will support you on this effort.
Hi Andy, We (RA) had a meeting last year end with Paramount Executive Director - Mr Ricque Liew & Finance GM - Mr Wang Chong Hwa . We did forwarded them the similar request ( asking reveal of detailed account of expenditures ) which they told us that since our RA was only Pro-tem at this stage, Until or unless we are officially registered ourselves with Registra of Society, they will not reveal Or handover the detailed account to us.
However, instead they given us a briefed details of expenses on Facilities & services in Palma's Township. I have a copy of it & can show it to you in our next forth coming meeting.
It cannot be denied , from the list shown , Paramount is subsidising us for the pass years of our occupancy. With the recent increase , Handling over of account to RA by Paramount in due time with Zero Balance will be irrelevant.
As for the status of our ROS application as an official body has been updated by our RA secretary- Mr SP Lin in our last meeting.
Our application submitted in January 2009, It will takes at least 6 months to obtain approval. Mr SP LIn will be updating us @ every forth coming meeting until the exercise is done since it has been minuted in our meeting Agenda.
Meanwhile , Since all your neighbors were so concerned about the account, Please asked them to be patient during this transistion period. The account will definitely make known not only to them but to all residents once handed over by Paramount & audited by Our RA auditor - Mr Liew
Lastly, with no offence, I plead that should you require any clarifications on issues, Please call me Or any of our RA members instead of calling Paramount in single voice
We love to update you since you are a new comer in our RA members list. We need to confront Paramount Not individually but with the joint strength from all owners , RA's & perhaps with Political muscles.
My emphasis is We need to work as a team with 1 accord, 1 voice & 1 unity so that Paramount will respect & will not bully us.
I pledge to all residents that RA will conduct all affairs & issues with trust & integrity.
