    Notice/Banner Empty Notice/Banner

Post  coleong Thu Sep 17, 2009 8:16 pm

Why need to put such a big banner re the charges due? As I have said before, the fountain feature is what visitors complimented each time they visit Palma. Now, there are two banners, one on the DeepaRaya and the other on payment. They blocked the fountain feature. It is such an ugly sight as you enter Palma, especially when payment need to be reminded. In view of the long Raya holidays, I'm sure many residents are expecting visitors be it Muslim houses or non-Muslims will have gatherings. Can all notices be hung somewhere else maybe, on the perimeter wall? Alternatively, just block the access cards when payment is overdue.

    Hi, coleong

Yes, I agreed with you that the banners are indeed blocking the view of the beautiful fountain. However the RA committee felt that this is the best location we have. Do you have a better suggestion or option that we can serious looked into?

We have to have the reminder banner because it is very important that we need all residents to pay up the maintainance fees otherwise RA will have enough money to run the up coming management. So the location has to be noticeable to all residents.

Your contribution ideas are very important to us too so ensure Palma is a better place to stay.

    Good day.

I strongly agree with the view presented by coleong. The banners are not in the right place. The place taken up by these banners are definitely strategic as it is the first point of eye contact for visitors to Palma, hence their impression of the area where their friends are living in. The fountain is intended for this purpose, and to block it with banners is a disservice to the residents. Notice or reminder to the residents can be hung up infront of the guard house (smaller size will do). As for festivals, other forms of decoration instead of banner are better alternatives. To me, lighting up the area between the fountain and the guardhouse can creat the festive mood much needed. For example, red lanterns for CNY, green ketupat lanterns for Hari Raya, and special bulbs (oil lamps?) for Deepavali etc.

    Hi Bingo and Coleong,

I tend to agree with your comments on the banners from the perspective that they are blocking our amazing view of the water features. In fact, the banner ideas started out when RA was running short of idea on how to convey the message to the Palma residents. If most of the residents are computer savvy like we are, the problem would solve by itself. Many months back, the water features wasn't the pretty sight of Palma and you probably noticed stagnant water with algae growing on the water surface. The banners would come into good use just to temporary cover it up for public viewing.

Just a few months back, RA has managed to push Paramount to fix up the water features and back on full operational. Everyone would love to see the curtain of water flowing down and it's real refreshing to see the water features. The banners are definitely not meant for blocking the view and RA is in the mid of coming up with a more appropriate measure in conveying message.

RA will definitely look into your suggestion on taking down the banner but before anything could be done, general consensus need to be reached among the RA committee members.

You are most welcome to join Palma RA for the community upkeeping.

    Regards,
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

The residents, particularly myself, are appreciative of the hardwork and dedication of RA committee members. My view is not intended to diminish the effort put in by the RA to make Palma a better place.

I feel that the banners if need to be put up at the current location, should not block the fountain. Furthermore, due to strong wind and weak suppoting structures, the tilting banners creat a more ugly impression. I would like to suggest that the banners should rest on solid backing at a lower level, eg the triangular blocks resting on ground normally used for advertisement in soccer matches.

    Thank you.

    Hi, binggo/Coleong

Agreed with you all that the view now is like election fever in Palma. Instead of political campaign, we have "FESTIVAL PARTY" verses " ACCESS CARD DEACTIVATION PARTY" Wink as that location is the best to capture the residents' attention.

We are aware of the sloppy poles. Infact we had asked for quotations to errect permanent metal poles too. However this will have to put on hold as we are viewing seriously over your objections.

However, the committee will certainly have to look for other options in the near future. My suggestion is that since the banners are up there, so be it. And once the party is over they will be taken down. Hope you can bear with it a little longer. In my opinion, there will be no further addition of banners until the RA committee comes up with other practical options.

At this juncture, with the current preparations of the DEEPARAYA party coupled with the issues of the new security company, transfering of management from Paramount to RA and also the setting up the RA own office....etc are really jamming up the entire committees' brains. These may look simple as a normal resident may think but most of the committee members (not all though) were having 5 to 6 meetings a week even on Sundays!!!.

Would strongly support Wealthraider's proposal. We love to have you gentlemen to join as RA members, or at least come and join in our monthly RA meetings. This invitation also extend to all interested residents. We NEED you to contribute to RA with your expertise in your own profession capacity. What ever profession you are in, it would surely be beneficial to RA's needs.

Lets make Palma a place that we love to belong.

    Thanks

    JDdots lol!
